Sun Bum Texturizing Sea Spray

Sun Bum Texturizing Sea Spray

I’m a brand loyalist about exactly four things:

  • Coca-Cola because I live in the South and Pepsi is never OK.

  • Never flying Spirit Air because they’re literally the nickel and diming worst.

  • Aerosoles because they make the comfiest flats and boots ever.

  • Sum Bum sunscreen and hair products.

When I was pregnant, we started to spend more time at the beach. It was the only place that felt safe during a pandemic and being in the ocean helped relax me.

Since we were out in the sun so much more, I needed a good sunscreen that was relatively affordable and didn’t cause breakouts. I picked Sun Bum on a whim and quickly decided this would be my go-to from on.

Literally everything I’ve bought from this line has been great from their lip balms to their sunscreen to their hair products.

They also have a Baby Bum line which not only provides Will sun protection and keeps him squeaky clean but also makes him smell like bananas and coconuts.

Super on brand for my little Florida Baby.

Also, they’re local (Cocoa Beach), cruelty-free and reef-safe which makes me feel good about my purchase.

One of my favorite products is the the matte texturizing spray because it makes my life so easy.

My usual haircare routine was to built around heat damage - blow drying and then wrestling with a flat-iron for a solid 20 to get my thin, frizzy hair looking remotely manageable. Waves were not an option until I got Sun Bum Texturizing Sea Spray.

Wash your hair.
Spray the hell out of it with Sea Spray + Sun Bum’s Anti-Frizz Oil Mist.
Blow dry on low until like, 70% dry and put your hair into two Pippi Longstocking style braids.
Or, let air dry and twist your hair up into a bun.
Go to bed.

Wake up in the morning, undo braids, run your fingers through your hair and ta-da! Mermaid curls.

Super easy when you’re 38 weeks pregnant in September and the sun feels like it’s three inches from your scalp.

Super easy when you’ve got a month-old infant to look after and you barely have time to eat much less do your hair.

So, holy shit, I love you Sun Bum.

Go out and get their stuff today. And don’t forget to put on sunscreen.

Even if it’s not theirs.

Seriously - slather up.

And maybe drink some water?

Oh and take a sweater. It might get cold with the air conditioning.

*I didn’t get paid for any of this. I just really dig the products.
